Show Notes

The bassist and singer is a founding member of That Dog, the Rentals, and the Haden Triplets and a featured collaborator with Weezer, Beck, and Todd Rundgren. As the child of jazz great, bassist Charlie Haden, she and her siblings grew up immersed in music. The forthcoming album “[Simon and The Astronauts featuring Rachel Haden](https://www.ringrecords.org/?fbclid=IwAR0nI4eqvgjcNIYLDI1Y3sD-LilYeGaboioejYaaJ2G942nIUudBnQEtIzA)" is the latest to spotlight her pure vocal tone and sympathetic musical sensibilities. Tonight Rachel joins the Troubled Men and adds a sorely needed touch of grace.

Topics include a 2nd dose, taxes, an all-TMP live set, tenant trouble, Gogo, the Haden Family history, Crossroads High School, the Blue Bus, Anna Waronker, Petra Haden, early gigs, Dick Rude, playing drums with Beck, Maya Rudolph, Brad Wood, sober living, the “Rambling’ Boy” sessions, Ry Cooder, Charlie’s influence, “The Queen’s Gambit,” and much more.
